How has your art practice differed from what you originally envisioned when you started?

When I started creating art, I was exploring different techniques and mediums. I loved to draw and work with clay. My early work was influenced by cartoons and animation. I love the freedom and creativity found in both those art forms. I envisioned that my original cartoons would bring me success but instead my interactive art paintings became my main focus and source of income.

When did you know you were an artist?

I always had an interest in art and creativity, but it wasn’t until after high school that I took art classes in college and seriously considered myself an artist.

What do you think the job of an artist is?

The job of an artist is to bring beauty to the world and engage and inspire people with their art. The artist can use their art to entertain, communicate a message, sell products, solve problems, provoke thinking, and explore the many aspects of the human experience.
