A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I co-run an alternative art & wellness space called Pioche Projects in Biarritz, France. I make music in a few projects, under the names Dual-Split, Lighter, and Rita and the Labyrinth. I also do Sound Therapy with a team of doctors under the name International Integrators.

2. Why do you make art?

I have to, it's an urgency, if I don't, I am not well. My art is an investigation of my artistic processes as a ritual connected to the mind, body and spirit. It's a challenging journey, yet a way to teach myself about the sub-conscious, revealing my deepest emotions and the path this life has given me.

3. What inspires you?

Honesty, survivors, warriors and how they find balance with the uncertainties of life, how to look at the big picture in the chaos of nature.

4. What/who are your influences?

My friends, my family, my teachers. Emma Kunz, Agnes Martin, Hilma af Klint, Laurie Anderson, Ana Mandieta, Toni Morrison, Mary Oliver, Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo, James Baldwin, Agnes Varda, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gretta Thunberg, the list can go on..

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

All my great great great great grandparents. All marginalized spiritual mentors and comedians in a room together.
