A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

When not making art (which is my day job), I work as an artist-in-residence to create public art projects with at-risk populations. I am an obsessive gardener. I love to spend quality time with family and friends.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because it is the one pursuit that makes me feel most alive, expansive, curious and adventuresome.

3. What inspires you?

What inspires me is the endless variety provided by nature, music, and the best intentions of the human spirit.

4. What/who are your influences?

My influences are nature and the challenges presented by painting and drawing the human figure. My artist/inspirations come from Lautrec, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Alice Neel and Nick Cave.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

If I could meet anyone dead or alive it would be Winston Churchill and Dolly Parton.
